Following this week’s vote by the House of Representatives on the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act we discuss how this bill leaves many women more vulnerable than ever. In particular, the House version of VAWA does away with the U Visa that allows immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence or workplace sexual abuse to come forward without the fear of deportation.
